GRADIENT / TITANIUM 3AL-2.5V // ADVENTURE

The REILLY GRADIENT is an unprecedented engineering achievement. It combines a hydro-formed 3AL-2.5V titanium tube set, reminiscent of our favourite steel tubing Columbus Spirit HSS, with the adventure frame geometry which Mark Reilly perfected over a 30-year frame building career. Mark's design work on the Gradient was so progressive that its launch pre-dated the whole gravel phenomenon. The Gradient is the embodiment of titanium’s classic ‘flex and flow’, guaranteeing all-day comfort. Whether you’re riding road, gravel, audax, cycle cross, touring or commuting, this is the perfect ‘do-it-all’ bike!

The Builds

We have spent many hours in the saddle considering our perfect setup for the Gradient bikes and we believe the options available meet our riders high demands and ours of course.

Our Component Choice:

Shimano 2X complete groupsets: We've chosen the components to best match the conditions the Gradient excels in. We only supply complete groupset with matched flat-mount disc brakes.

Shimano Builds are supplied with 50/34 Compact Chainsets and 11-34 cassettes with Ultegra and 11-32 with 105.

All Shimano builds are supplied with 50/34 Compact Chainsets. 170mm cranks on small, 172.5mm cranks on medium and large, 175mm on extra large. If you want to change these choices just pop it in the order notes.

Shimano GRX 1 x builds

GRX is Shimano's new Gravel/Adventure Groupset and is long awaited but we now have the 600 series in stock. These come with a 40T front chainring and 11-42 rear cassette.

GRX builds have the choice of Fulcrum racing 900 wheels which are brilliant for the money or of course Hunt Gravel 4 season gravel wheels.

SRAM RED AXS groupsets:

For 2 x choose from 50-37, 48-35 or 46-33T rings, just add your choice in the notes section. This comes with a 10-33T cassette.

For 1x, 40T as standard or 46T, just add your choices in the notes section.

Below are the actual build specifications, the photographs we use may not always show these, but the list below is what will be delivered.

Wheelset and Tyres:

  • Fulcrum Rapid Red 5 gravel wheels are now fitted as standard, tubeless ready.
  • Panaracer Gravel King SK: Designed to give you speed on the road but grip the towpaths and cycle tracks, and toughened with PT protection will keep you puncture free. Tubeless ready 38 to 43c fitted, other sizes available but please call to discuss.

Bars, Stem, Seatpost and Saddle:

We've specced our Gradient with the best components.

  • Reilly Vector carbon seat post and our lightest yet at 148 grams, supplied with 2 6AL-4V titanium retaining bolts.
  • Reilly Vector titanium RS saddle. Anatomically shaped, a proprietary technology that gives our saddle a sleek finish without a visible seam between the cover and the base. In addition, this innovative technology also ensures a 100% waterproof feature.
  • Deda  Zero 1 handlebars and stem.
  • Reilly chrono headset, for 44mm head tubes, 1 1/8" to 1.5" tapered steerers. Black included as standard but you can choose red, pewter or blue at no extra cost.

Road CC / David Arthur - Fun and capable adventure road bike with great looks to match the great ride. Read the full 5-star review here.

"The Gradient is right at home negotiating narrow tree-lined singletrack with loose corners and steep climbs and would be a good choice if you're looking for a bike to tackle one of the growing number of gravel events like the Dirty Reiver."

Gritcx / Mark Tearle - Where this bike really excels, in my view, is when you point it downwards. Read the full review here

"I want one. I won’t rest until I get one. I know that if this bike was in my shed that, more often than not, it is the bike I would grab more than any others to take me out on adventures. It’s so versatile, so capable and so damned pretty. This is a bicycle that doesn’t ask, it just insists and, well, who am I refuse?"

ADVNTR CC / James Deane - I could tell the Gradient was going to be a fun bike to ride as soon as I saw it. And I was right. here.

"The Gradient is a thoroughly modern ‘go anywhere’ bike. Equally at home on or off road, it will take you anywhere. And it will do it fast! Progressive geometry means the Gradient is capable running both 700c and 650b wheels."

The finished bike exudes a style that makes it look determined yet fast, even when leaning up against a cafe wall.

😍😍 BEST DEBUT NOVEL EVER
Format: Paperback
I’m having trouble finding accurate words to describe the way this book made me feel, but I am going to do my best. To start off with basic elements, the character and world building are phenomenal. I feel a strong bond to not only the two main characters, Ara and Rogue, but to each and every character introduced throughout the book. The author did a stellar job of giving each of them unique personhood. All of the scenes are beautifully described. So much so that throughout the entirety of the book, I could see every scene: the towns, the castles, the meadows, the landscape. I have had difficulty with this and with distinguishing between outlying characters while reading in the past, but I did not have to think to remember details of world or character building because they flowed naturally within the story and were described well. I have read book series before that made me want to be a part of that world, but I actually felt like I got to step into Auryna and Ravaryn! The plot twists!! Although this is not a suspense novel, it still had me on a rollercoaster of emotions and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I haven’t cried actual tears over a book since I was in high school (and I’ve read a LOT). This book finally broke the floodgates in the final few chapters. Multiple times. And we love a good cliffhanger. It truly made me FEEL. THE SPICE is a solid 3.5/5. Some of the scenes had me flushed, some had me taking notes, some just had my jaw slack and my mouth hanging open. Bravo, JD Linton, bravo. The relationships: friendships, family, romantic, ALL of the relationships in this book have so much meaning. The author does a great job at making you feel the love, the anger, the peace, the frustrations, the safety, the familiarity, etc. between the characters. Ara and Rogue. I can not say enough and I also do not want to say too much. Just know that I feel like I know them both, to their core. I know what their childhood looks likes, their darkest moments, their biggest fears, their dreams and passions, what they want in life… The POV switches were seamless. I am so happy this author decided to let us see from both sets of eyes. I can not wait for book two after that cliffhanger. And there is SO much potential for at least one prequel, I can’t wait to see where this author goes! I hope this series continues and flourishes. Fingers crossed!

Amazing!
Format: Kindle, Format: Kindle
This book was phenomenal, I devoured it within a few days! For this being a debut novel, it is fantastic and I would’ve thought the author was a seasoned author. I have zero complaints about this book. Let me start by saying that the world building was phenomenal. I could picture everything in my head because of how detailed it was — that’s how good it was written. And I absolutely love the “captive/captor” trope so much, it’s become one of my favorite tropes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book had that. I loved the banter between Rogue and Ara — they’re both snarky and witty, plus with the romantic tension, it made the dialogue that much better. Speaking of romantic tension, yes there is spice but not so much of it that it overrides the plot, which I loved. For me, this would probably be on the 3/5 level of spice. This book had a ton of plot twists and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

High on Tropes and Satisfaction
Format: Kindle
This is a great Romantasy book full of action, adventure, and everything you look for in this genre. I won’t lie: it does kinda feel like the author found every common trope from every successful book of this kind and threw them all into this novel. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Especially in romance, there’s a large audience who has specific expectations, and they want them every time. Nothing wrong with that and many times I’m one of them. I have no idea what defines a spoiler honestly, so spoiler alert!!!!!!! Tropes include: Only one bed at the inn/bar Dissatisfaction with life before hunk appears Lost royalty The chosen one Montage of dress up time followed by shocked hunk Forbidden romance between two from rival peoples Power that cannot be controlled, simply guided/asked Gathering intel at the inn/bar FMC who knows how to fight/use weapons well There’s probably more but no need to list them all. Good story and I would recommend!

Addicting!
Format: Kindle
I could not stop reading. It was so refreshing to have a series start so completely different than most fated mates/fantasy academy rh I’ve been reading. From the desert scenery to the magic and feeding plus the psychological trauma the characters are there to deal with. Pandora is absolutely adorable and I totally relate to hiding behind my hair. I love that she’s literally the most scary type of demon but it’s not the usual “badass mc” persona (which I do love a badass that can fend for herself and kick ass from the start but it was a nice change of pace). I’m not usually a big fan of bully within the harem but each character has their reasons for their actions and also conflicting feelings about them. I adore Dex and Reed! Complete opposites but their personalities and inner monologues made them instant favs. I can’t wait to see the character growth with the guys and continued strength for Pandora. The captivating characters and references to the Fate Hallow series added so much depth and now I need another reread while I wait for book 2. The concept of magic and the unique feeding habits of the demon characters were intriguing. I can't wait for the next book to continue this thrilling journey. In summary, this book is a must-read for fantasy and magic academy rh fans. With its enchanting characters, nods to the Fate Hallow series, and imaginative concepts, it offers an immersive reading experience that hwill leave you craving for more.

Best academy I've read this year
Format: Kindle
I need a few things when it comes to a first book of a PNR romance series 1-Good world building (which this totally did) 2-An FMC I can root for (oh hell yes, Pandora is someone I can cheer for) 3-Good drama (can you say GROVEL BOYS!) 4-Enough story to make you feel like you really read something with meat (you saw this book is like 600 pages, yeah?) 5-A hook at the end so I want more! (please, Lyra, gimmie more?!? I need more!!) Be aware this book is a slow burn, but damn do I feel like there'll be some big payoff when it finally happens. Who doesn't like the buildup?
